MADHON NEWS - President Joko Widodo should look at the track record of the Indonesian National Police chief candidate before he made the selection process. This was stated by the Coordinator of Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW)

"We are from a coalition of civil society initiated a petition in change.org/kapolri urged Jokowi to open my eyes," said Emerson.
According to Emerson, the case of fat bank accounts has been around since 2010. But unfortunately the police internal considers it reasonable. So there is no significant development since the reign of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono until now.
"We commend Jokowi step that selects candidates for ministers through the Commission and INTRAC, unfortunately when the selection process Attorney General and the Chief of Police, he deny it," said Emerson.
ICW assess Jokowi not continue the good tradition, namely the selection process through the Commission and the Chief of Police not INTRAC. "I also do not understand what Jokowi reason," he said.
According to him, if Jokowi force myself induct Budi Gunawan, Indonesia will be the only country that has a police chief accused of corruption.
"When a person becomes a suspect, and served as Police chief, I think this would be a bad precedent," said Emerson.
According to the ICW, almost 100% of cases handled by the Commission certainly lead to court and the suspects then defined as a convict. "I think this can be prevented by Jokowi," said coordinator
